Menstruation - Did You Know?

1

This topic is for women okay. But guys, if you wanna read, you are most welcome. You need to know about women as well especially for those that already have someone called woman (Your mum & sisters also women...he he he) in your life. No excuse, okay. I will not talk much actually, just want to share a little bit information here. Maybe this info you already know and aware of it, but just a little bit sharing okay. Here they are:
  • Menstruation can vary greatly from woman to woman and from month to month and still be normal. Generally, the length of menstrual cycle can fluctuate from 3 weeks to 5 weeks, without alarm.
  • The average period lasts about 6 days, although some women may experience slightly shorter or longer periods and be perfectly normal. Always count the days in your cycle, the first day of your period as day one.
  • Variations in the amount of menstrual flow and the timing of menstruation are quite normal in young women during the first few years following the onset of menstruation. Periods may be irregular or very light. The use of oral contraceptives can often cause fluctuations in menstruation which include either light periods or spotting/bleeding between periods.
  • Many times, young women are frightened when they discover dark clumps of tissue in their menstruation. Most often, this is a part of the endometrium (uterine lining) shedding and is nothing to be concerned about.
  • The average age of the onset of menstruation is about 12 or 13, however it may begin as young as 8 for some girls or not until 14 or 15 for others. If your period has not started by the time you are 16, see your physician to assess whether there may be an underlying condition.
Alright, that is bit of here and there but ever you heard about PMS or Premenstrual Syndrome? This is something happen before period. Some are light PMS but some are severe or very serious one. Here is a little bit info on PMS.
Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) refers to a wide range of physical or emotional symptoms that typically occur about 5 to 11 days before a woman starts her monthly menstrual cycle. The symptoms usually stop when menstruation begins, or shortly thereafter.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors
The exact cause of PMS has not been identified. Changes in brain hormone levels may play a role, but this has not been proven. Women with premenstrual syndrome may also respond differently to these hormones.

PMS may be related to social, cultural, biological, and psychological factors.

The condition is estimated to affect up to 75% of women during their childbearing years.

It occurs more often in women:

  1. Between their late 20s and early 40s
  2. Who have at least one child
  3. With a personal or family history of major depression
  4. With a history of postpartum depression or an affective mood disorder

The symptoms typically get worse in a woman's late 30s and 40s as she approaches the transition to menopause.

As many as 50% - 60% of women with severe PMS have a psychiatric disorder (premenstrual dysphoric disorder).

To read more on PMS, please visit this site PubMed Health

I hope you guys get some valuable info from this post. Anyway, as for me, i did face some issues with my menstrual cycle especially when i am stress because of work. Sometimes i didn't realize my period is late. So, as a women, we need to be aware of our own body and make sure living clean and healthy. God bless.

Motivation Wednesday - A Turkey & A BullShit

0

Credit to Google
A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough strength to reach the first branch of the trees. The next day, after eating more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was promptly spotted by a farmer who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Lesson: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

P.s: I feel not so in the mood of working today so, i google some funny motivational short story that may encouraged me. This one is funny but if we reflects in our life, we might not aware of thing like this did happen to some of us. So, better to be honest and sincere in our work and life. God bless...

Earth Hour 2011

1

About Earth Hour
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries/territories officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.

On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.

EARTH HOUR 2011

Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). This Earth Hour we want you to go beyond the hour, so after the lights go back on think about what else you can do to make a difference. Together our actions add up.

What should we do:
1. Switch off our lights for Earth Hour at 8.30pm, Saturday 26 March 2011 and celebrate our commitment to the planet with the people of the world.
2. Sign up at WWF and pledge to “Live Green: One switch at a time.”
3. Sign up at Earth Hour take Action to be part of the movements.
4. Sustain your actions beyond the hour.

Okay.. Don't forget our commitments yah!

How do you tell the boss He's/ She's wrong?

0

by Joanna L. Krotz

1. Don't walk in mad to a meeting. Typically, it takes a while to discover that a new policy or initiative isn't working. Company changes won't occur without bumps and glitches. Make sure you've given the new policy a real chance before you act. Likewise, the impact of a wrong-headed policy doesn't happen overnight. It's cumulative. Effects ripple out and, little by little, everyone becomes increasingly impatient, irritable, overworked, or worse. Don't carry that volatile mixof unsettled and bad feelings into the meeting and simply vent. "If you are angry or frustrated and want to just blast your boss, before your meeting, talk things through with a friend or talk into a tape recorder," Gibson says. Play back the tape and listen to yourself. No doubt you'll want to develop more constructive ways to persuade the boss to reverse course.

2. Ask for permission. Before launching into your arguments, ask the boss if it's OK to proceed. For one thing, most people like some warning before hearing tough criticism or feedback. Then, too, sometimes the timing isn't right. The boss might be preoccupied or dealing with other issues. If you don't get permission, back off and try another time.

3. Be honest about your motivations. If all you have to offer is complaints, don't bother. Instead, think through the specific objectives you want to accomplish by the end of
the meeting. Stay focused and provide the data, case histories or events that prove your points. "Employees are often those closest to problems, so they have facts at the ready the boss may not have," says John Baldoni, a management consultant in Ann Arbor, Mich. Use hands-on experiences or the day-to-day points of view of peers to command credibility and provide perspective.

4. Accentuate the positive. "You can say [almost] anything to your boss as long as you say something nice first," says Deborah Brown, a career coach in Long Beach, N.Y. Avoid being confrontational and don't assign blame. Keep emphasizing positive factors whenever you can.

5. Listen carefully. You shouldn't do all the talking. Try to engage the boss in a dialogue about the issue that concerns you. Make an effort to listen more than you talk. There could well be reasons or motivations for initiatives that you haven't been told about. By listening, you'll not only show your concern for the company's well being, you'll build the boss's trust. You might also gain insights into future directions for the business.

6. Treat the boss like you would a customer. Present your case as if you're selling a client, suggests Maura Schreier-Fleming, a sales consultant based in Dallas. "Customers buy the way they want to, not the way we want them to." If the boss is analytical, bolster your argument with graphs and charts. "If the boss is a people pleaser, tell him whythe idea will hurt the people he cares about," says Schreier-Fleming. Match your style to the boss to put over your case.

7. Don't give up too soon. You can't expect one meeting to make the boss reject his position instantly. Few leaders will abandon policy or strategy after hearing one disagreement, especially when that comes from a subordinate. Usually, the manager has deeper skills and more experience than you do. More than likely, he thought through the policy for some time before coming to a decision. Don't expect a single try to make the difference. Make sure you're respectful and understanding, but try again. Then, too, if a boss must take the case to his own superiors or to a board of directors or investors, he might need more to go on. "Very often when a boss says 'no,' he's just asking for a stronger case to be made," Treasurer says. To try again, marshal additional arguments and go through the steps of setting specific goals and figuring out how to calmly present your case. Gathering new evidence will help. But be sensitive when the boss draws the line. If he remains unconvinced after a few tries, give it up. Make sure your exit is both gracious and professional. Thank him for opportunity of sharing your views, and avoid any semblance of sulking.

Most bosses prefer employees who care about improving the company. If you're clearly a team player after voicing your arguments, the next time you have something to say, you're likely to find a much more receptive boss.

P.s: Don't give up so soon! Yep, that's right.... Just for your reading peeps!

We Make a Deal - STOP COMPLAINING AT WORK

2

This may sounds funny for some of you. But, my friend and i made a deal today. In my previous post A Promise to Myself, i did mention about COMPLAINING right? I want to reduce or overcome my bad habit which is complaining at work. Because for now, there seems to be nothing is right in my eyes in my office anymore.

Therefore, we make a deal about STOP COMPLAINING started from today. If any of us complaint, that person need to pay an amount of RM0.50 per complaint. So, we must be aware of our conversation and action that we take. Why only 50 cent? This is because, i complaint everyday and almost more than 5 times per day. I am that bad right? So, we started with a small amount first. To give ourself a warning.

What will happen with the money? He he he... We plan to have a good meal with that money just to reward ourself for our effort to overcome this bad habit. If the amount is big, that means we are still complaning about our work. But, if at the end of the month only a small amount, then we must celebrate it with a good meal. That is our DEAL!!

Sounds crazy you think? At least we make an effort to make good progress of our work and maybe change our work environment to be a better place to work.

Moments to Remember with Precious Friends

0

I am sure each and evreyone of us have a great moments with our friends. Maybe it was when we are still in kindergarden, primary school, secondary school, college, university or when we are already working. No matter what we did together with our friends.

I am blessed because i have so many great friends from my school days until now. We separated follow our own paths but we still contacted each other. I must says that FACEBOOK did help us to get connected, a lot! To be aware of what happen to each others. That is the great things FB do to my friendship.

From left: Alice, Najjah, Suzie & Me
In photos above are my friends from my current workplace. This photo was taken after our theater performance during World Environment Day last year. Najjah is no more working with us, she already left to another workplace sometime in August last year. However, she did help us a lot to make our performance is a WOW that night. Actually most of our actor and actress in that theater were youths. We only help them with that performance.

But the most important thing is that, we have a really great time preparing for that performance and perform well that night. I may say, this is one of the great moments that i have with my friends. Even so, there are lots more great moments that i have with my other precious friends.

How about you? Wanted to share some?

A Promise to Myself

0

Thinking a lot about this after attended Leadership & Team Building Training on Thursday & Friday this week. Starting from tomorrow i made a promise to myself:

  • Started my day with a PRAYER, asking my God for His guidance and never leave me alone.
  • I wanted to be MYSELF again, stay focus and believe in myself.
  • I will always trying my best to be HAPPY, enjoying my work and be cheerful even there are loads of work in the office. I wanted to live my life joyfully.
  • I will try my very best to always think POSITIVE. I like my friend's slogan "Bersangka Baik Saja"..
  • I will greet my co-workers that i met every morning with a BIG SMILE. Hoping that they will have a great day too.
  • I will trying hard to overcome my bad habit... PROCRASTINATION. Trying to finish all my task on time. No more delaying because it has put a lot of pressure on myself and then it leads to stress.
  • No more COMPLAINING. Just do things right according to what it is supposed to be done. Put my own standard in it and make sure it done perfectly.
  • Always MOTIVATED and have control of my own thoughts. Think wisely and yep.. be motivated to move forward.
  • Open for a change. No more "Katak bawah tempurung" things...
  • Take a CHALLENGE and go for it!! (I hope i still can make this happen because for these two years i have been holding back so many times...)
Alright, as it is on this day...these ten are my promise to myself. I must at least try the most simplest step at one time. Like greet my co-workers every morning. It will not be that hard to be done, as long as i start my day with a SMILE on my face and feeling great for that day. For sure i can share it with others too.

Wish me luck and i hope my friends out there will have a great life too. God bless and peace be with us all...

Tired

0

Today was a tiring day for me. Since yesterday i was attending Leadership and Team Building Course. But i still need to prepare for my programme with youth tomorrow. Yesterday, after finish our course, my friend and i need to rush to get the paddy husks at Kg. Bangsal. Then with another friend i went to town, buying all the materials that we need for the programme. From one shop to another, looking for all the materials and at the end i was really exhausted.

Today, finish the training and we do another preparation at the office. Wah, only two of us doing the preparation.    I always like things to be well prepared but this time with only a very limited time, our preparation is a little bit messy. See, i still not finish with my power point presentation. Still need to do some touch up, here and there.

Now, i am tired and need some sleep first. I will try to wake up sometime at 3am to continue with my presentation. Till then yah! I need to rest, my brain won't work very well now.....

True Confession #4 - Do i like my current job?

4

Do i have to confess about this here? I think so... why? Because i need to write something that i can not say it out loud. Waaa... sounds a bit... what? Mysterious huh! Alright....here we goes!

To be HONEST... I am not really LIKE my current job because it is not my PASSION. It is not something that i really have heart to do. Half-hearted and the outcome is SO - SO... You know what? Before this i was so into adventurous things, discover new things, learn new things.. The more challenges, more i love to try it out. But now? Maybe i am getting older and maybe some of my brain cells is dead.. ha ha ha ha.. crazy!

Since i am not into this job, two years is like i was crawling like a baby. Struggling to understand and discover, what is actually this job is about. If i can measure percentage of my understanding, i can say that i only get about 40% or maybe less. Maybe i am just a slow learner! Huhuhu... (kesian my bos hiring me..)... Only a few part which related to nature, environmental awareness.... That i can do it. If it is come to deal with people.. I am OUT! Dead.. I may not become a mediator but an oil that make the fire become more stronger (macam tu minyak bah..kasi marak lagi tu api.. makin besar tu api... boleh gaduh besar..teda kesabaran bah ni..)

I can smile, i can talk softly but i easily give up with people that don't want to help themselves. I am helping them to lift up their way of life or maybe improved their way of living but i have limit of my patient. Alright! I don't want to talk more about it! Till then.... I stop here... Sorry for this mumbling is crazy thoughts that came out from my mind!

PRAYER & FASTING - Part 3

0

The Power of Fasting

Richard LaFountain gives a good summary on the power of fasting. Detailed people like me would have written another book just to say the following:

What Is Fasting?
Fasting is going without food to pursue and/or focus on something more important.
1. Fasting helps subject our bodies to our spirits. (I Cor 9:27)
2. Fasting is disciplining the body, mind, and spirit. (Prov. 25:28)
3. Fasting is subordinating our flesh-desires to our spirit-desires. (Gal 5:17)
4. Fasting helps set the priorities in our lives. (Mt 6:33)
5. Fasting is longing after God. (Ps 63:1-2)

Why Should We Fast?
1. Honor God - Mt 6:16-18, Luke 2:37, Acts 13:2, Mt 5:6
2. Humble Yourself - 2 Chron 7:14-15
3. Discerning Healing - I Cor 11:30, James 5:13-18, Isaiah 59:1-2
4. Deliverance from Bondage - Mt 17:21, Is 58:6-9 (loose bands of wickedness)
5. Revelation - God’s vision and will - Dan 9:3, 20-21, Dan 10:2-10, 12-13
6. Revival - personal and corporate - Acts 1:4, 14 / 2:16-21, Joel 2:12-18
7. Repentance - personal failures - Psalm 51: Jer. 29:11-14, James 4:8-10

LaFountain’s summary above shows that fasting is so critical in our Christian lives. Unfortunately few Christians take fasting seriously. If we all did there would be great revivals world over, breaking of bondages (yokes) in our lives and other people’s physical lives, spiritual areas, and loosing the bonds of Satan’s wickedness in people’s lives in their physical health, spiritual blindness and deafness to the gospel, marital, family, financial, mental and career bondages.

We would also be able to hear from God over most of our repetitive prayers. “Is not this the fast that I Choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the things of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share you bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house...Then shall you call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, here I am,” (Isaiah 58:6-7, 9)

Few believers ever dream or attempt to fast for 40 days. Breakthroughs that would come after the 40 days can take an entire lifetime to realize, if at all. But let’s focus on at least three days of fasting. It’s good to start on an incremental level to reduce the cries of the body after starting a fast. The first time can last a day. Next can be two days. Then three days. Anyone who reaches three days can easily prolong the fast to even 40 days since the body stops crying and kicking after two to three days.

This is our one major discipline that moves mountains. Unfortunately it’s a rarely practiced discipline in the body of Christ. Some have even assumed that breakthroughs come when we go after demon spirits in thin air and command them let go of our blessings as if they have any. They bombard these spirits, calling it spiritual warfare prayer or deliverance prayer only to come under more attacks.

God said when we humble ourselves through prayer and fasting he, himself takes care of these spirits that have gained legal access into our lives. Our consecration to him closes their legal entry and enables him to rebuke all the devourers and weeds around our lives. He rebukes them, not us. Our only role is to focus on him over what he requires of us, and not to focus on whatever demon spirits are up to.

Prayer and fasting constitute our true spiritual warfare prayers and deliverance prayers. We bring matters before God in humble submission and seek him to deal with them in his power and might. The outcome is twofold: first is victory and deliverance over matters being submitted to him. Second, we draw closer to God, experiencing his grace, love and power. Going after demonic spirits in thin air and calling it spiritual warfare prayer or deliverance prayer is our invention that the bible does not support. No wonder it leads to more bondage instead of deliverance.

To Be Continue.....

P.s: It's Friday! Happy Fasting! Don't forget to attend the Way of the Cross today at church ok... God bless us all!

Little Rose

PRAYER & FASTING - PART 2

0

How to Fast

There’re no rules on fasting periods. One can set apart a day every week without food and water. Or she can set three days aside every month to recondition her sensitivity to God. Water can be taken in a three day fast though it’s possible to do without it up to three days. Beyond three days water is essential for your body.

There is a story of one believer who fasted for 40 days without drinking water. He died on the fortieth day. He’s no doubt heaven-destined and probably had victories over matters he fasted for. However he went too soon for lack of knowledge on appropriate fasting principles. A prolonged fast from 4 days to 40 days needs water and probably a slice or two of bread (or three) per day.

Fasting beyond 40 days is not biblical. It’s not a sin to fast over 40 days but it’s a health risk. There is no scriptural record of anyone fasting beyond 40 days. This should be a medical health alarm because beyond 40 days physical health is likely to start deteriorating. It can bring health complications that may be hard to reverse. On the other hand fasting within biblical limits has lasting health benefits – though it’s the spiritual benefits that are more important.

After ending a 40 day fast I weighed 130 pounds (58.9 Kg) at 6 foot (1.83m). It was like coming out of a concentration camp with a chest showing all the bones of the ribcage. Only the Lord enabled this fast since I had a six-day full time job at the same time. Two to three slices of bread where taken every midnight. On two or three occasions a small portion of beans was taken after feeling completely weak. Headaches can come once in while but this ought to be endured during the fast. Headaches only signal the cries of the body. They’re to be ignored for as long as they don’t worsen. The victories from the fast cannot be quantified to this day.

If there is any mountain for the Lord to move allow fasting to facilitate the work. Seek him to enable you rather than making all kinds of excuses. After all it’s you that stands to gain over all the matters you’re burdened with. It’s such a privilege to give birth to these matters after much travail through fasting. And God’s work goes beyond the matters making the victories through fasting hard to measure.

Prayer and fasting is like sowing in tears. It’s a sacrifice yet a more than worthwhile one. “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves (bundles of crop harvest) with him,” Psalm 126:5-6.

I believe a 40 day fast ought to be once in a lifetime. It ought not to be done more than once if you are enabled to fast up to 40 days. Only Moses is said to have taken two 40 day fasts in the bible. If you want to be like Moses it’s no sin. However note the health precautions. Our bodies have been designed to work in certain ways. Fasting helps them when it’s done within limits that our bodies have been framed.

Outside these limits fasting becomes detrimental. Victories come but at health costs that were not even necessary. After one 40 day long fast it is advisable to stick to 2 to 3 day fasts afterwards. Besides 3 day fasts without food or water can be as overcoming as a 40 day fast when taken multiple times. For instance one can purpose to fast a total of at least 40 days in a year taking 2 to 3 day fasts.

How often one needs to take such fasts depends on the grace one has. Allow the Lord to equip you and enable you rather than use your own limitations as yardsticks. At one point he may enable you to take 3 day fasts three times in one month, at a later period once, and so on. His enabling rather than yours should win the day. But do your part in allowing him to work through you. Plan ahead when you sense his leading. When that day comes make no excuses. Commit yourself rather than flip flopping.

A fasting program ought to include prayer, intercession, reading of God’s word (i.e. one way of listening to God), allowing God to speak from within. It can also include worshipping him with songs of praise on multimedia or personally. Listening to or watching sermons focusing on areas you are burdened with is also edifying.

Allowing God to speak from within is not waiting to hear a strange voice. It is God speaking from within. His Spirit dwells in you so he speaks from within. You will be able to grasp matters in your life and the lives of others in ways you never perceived them before. That is God speaking to you and revealing his ways to you. What he says is always supported by scripture.

If it’s something contradicting scripture then it’s the voice of a stranger, Satan. Satan also speaks to our hearts with his temptations and appeal to the flesh. His voice can be recognized by its appeal to the flesh, the fallen nature and contradiction of what God has told us in his word.

Scripture also tells us to move out of our comfort zones and stretch our hands to those who don’t have whatever basic needs we have. We share whatever resources we have with them and with extended family members that may be underprivileged. Many forget that charity is part of our Christian pillars and has its level of blessings or curses, depending on how we carry ourselves. See Isaiah 58:6-9 for the fast that God desires. Without engaging in most of these areas, fasting only becomes a form of dieting or hunger strike.

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter-- when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I,” Isaiah 58:6-9

In our New Testament (Covenant) era Jesus said we should make fasting a secret. It should not be like the Pharisees who blew the horn and covered their heads with oil to show everyone how holy they were. No one needs to know unless one has health ailments that fasting may affect. Particularly short fasts, fasting ought to be between you and God.

Anointing ones head may be necessary since Jesus said so. “When (not, if or in case) you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you,” Matthew 6:17-18.

Notice he also said “wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting.” So you can anoint yourself and then wipe the oil out. It will not be a problem if you don’t apply any oil. Application of oil when fasting was the Jewish custom. Jesus did not want to discredit the oil so he included its relevance but attacked the wrong motives for its application. Some anointed themselves to show everyone they were fasting instead.

One may be asking on how to use the anointing oil if one decides to use it. It’s any oil that you have, even basic cooking oil. It does not have to be some special oil straight from Jerusalem. God is more interested in our faith than in what kind of oil is being used. It can even be petroleum jelly like Vaseline if you cannot afford any oil. Jerusalem oil, Olive oil, cooking oil or Vaseline oil will all have the same effect if applied in faith.

You can pour some oil in a smaller bottle for future use. Take some oil and apply it on your forehead and pray that God uses it as a point of faith in anointing you and consecrating you. Your consecration enables you to be under his agenda of fasting. Anointing oil is for consecration, being set apart as holy vessels for the Holy Spirit to work through. “He (Moses) poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head and anointed him to consecrate him,” Leviticus 8:12

The oil is meant to be an act of faith in receiving the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the Holy Spirit enables us to fast for the right reasons and to flow under the power and influence of God. He is also the one who moves into our lives to break yokes and overcome spiritual strongholds –spiritually, physically, materially, socially and so on.

PRAYER AND FASTING - Part 1

0

  • Prayer and Fasting -Sowing to the Spirit
Fasting is probably the greatest avenue for enabling us be sensitive and responsive to the Spirit of God. God is always speaking to us in one way or another. However, only those who are sensitive and responsive enough to him can effectively hear him.

Our Lord Jesus said fasting would be necessary for his disciples after he ascended. “The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast,” (Matthew 9:15)

The early disciples remembered the words of their master and thus they made fasting vital. The outstanding work God accomplished through them speaks for itself. They could easily hear God speak to them in their moments of fasting. “While they were worshipping and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set a part for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them,’ ” (Acts 13:2). Thus the ministry of Paul started after a period of fasting and praying. “So after they fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off,” (Verse 3).

  • Nature, Role and Purpose of Fasting
Fasting, that of abstaining from food can become legalistic and ritual oriented when taken out of context. It can become a religious activity performed in order to influence God. Fasting is not a tool to win God’s audience. God is always ready to speak to us and to help us. It is for our sake to tune ourselves to his wavelength in order to hear from him and effectively walk with him.

In his audio sermon on fasting, Ron Gartner makes an important point. He says fasting is not giving up meals and making a sacrifice so that God can speak to us or bless us. It is not an exchange of a sacrifice in order to obtain blessings.

He says, it is moving into a spiritual realm of faith and power by putting down (denying) our flesh desires. The Holy Spirit and the spirit part of us then take dominance in moving in an area of prayer (communion with God) that we cannot get into through any other way. It is moving into the spirit, praying in the spirit and being in the spirit. This does not mean being foolish and turning our reasoning off. It is being wise with the mind of Christ while being submissive to the Holy Spirit.

Fasting may be unpleasant since our bodies are conditioned to be our masters. When they cry for food we quickly feed them. When they’re denied food they scream louder and louder at us. Common body reactions include extreme thirst and hunger (of course), weakness, fatigue, headaches, and occasional dizziness. In the early stages of attempting to fast these reactions are more intense. They fade and fasting becomes easier as the body becomes more conditioned.

With more regular fasting our bodies become less “unruly.” God also helps us in our natural weakness of finding it difficult to fast. He always makes his grace abundant on his children that are sincerely willing to obey his word. “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work,” (2 Corinthians 9:8). Regular fasting cannot kill the body. We may lose weight and strength during prolonged fasts but the spiritual breakthroughs in moving closer to God are too precious compared to anything we can lose.

0

Only three of us but it was quite fun. Move and shake our body for an hour. Actually this activity is just for fun and it is only for us, single ladies. Since i am still not confident to become our group instructor, then we just make ourselves familiar with the music and moves our body. The most important thing is to let our body sweating. He he he..

There are two other groups of ladies that having their aerobic class too. The space is very small and only can occupied about 15-20 people per sessions. These two groups, they have their own leader aka instructor. But i did not know how they conduct their class. Okay, nevermind, i think they are doing great.

So, our next class will be next week on Tuesday. I need to work on the choreograph and hoping that more of our friends attend our next class. This is FUN!!!

Mini Projek Belia - Takakura Home Method (Baja Kompos)

0

Bahan-bahan:
1.Tempe
2.Gula merah (250g)
3.Air (3L)
4.Sudip
5.Balang kaca kedap udara (4L)

Bahan-bahan Persediaan THM Komos:
1.Kotak (penyimpan fungi)
2.Sekam (1kg)
3.Tanah (2kg)
4.Bekas pengkomposan
5.Sisa-sisa makanan yang dipotong

Langkah-Langkah Penyediaan:
Penyediaan Cecair Penapaian
1.Sukat air paip sebanyak 3l.
2.Masukkan air ke dalam balang kaca kedap udara.
3.Masukkan gula merah.
4.Gaulkan gula merah sehingga rata.
5.Masukkan tempe (tempe dipecah-pecahkan menjadi cebisan kecil).
6.Gaulkan sehingga sebati.
7.Cecair penapaian disimpan selama 3-5 hari sebelum boleh digunakan.

Penyediaan Fungi
1.Sediakan tanah 2kg.
2.Sediakan sekam padi 1kg.

Proses Pengkomposan
1.Fungi penapaian setelah 7 hari disimpan.

Selamat Mencuba!!!

Aerobic Dance Class

0

I got a problem. Suddenly i feel that i don't know what to do? We get the room for two days every week, on Tuesday and Thursday for an hour each day. My problem is, i am not confident that i can conduct the class. Hmm... lack of confident because it has been more than two years i didn't join or practice my aerobic steps.

Now, i am not sure i can make it or not. It was lucky that the class is only for me and a few of my friends. If it is open for others then i have to work hard finding steps to be used.

To find steps i search throughout the websites and found some of that interesting but still, i am not sure if i can follow it through. But, boleh2lah mengkali ni. This is two of video that i was attracted to... Warm up and cooling down steps for Zumba..

Till then!
